Civil Rights Icon Dolores Huerta Speaks

Labor leader, civil rights activist and President Medal of Freedom recipient Dolores Huerta returns to Occidental to speak as part of a series of programs celebrating Women’s Herstory Month and Semana de la Raza.

Together with Cesar Chavez, Huerta co-founded the National Farmworkers Union, later and better known as the United Farm Workers, At 81, she continues to work tirelessly to develop community leaders and advocate for the working poor, women and children. As president of the Dolores Huerta Foundation, she travels across the country speaking to students and organizations about issues of social justice and public policy.
